Ryan Torain: My Man Crush of the Week

It’s Friday, so you know what that means.  It’s time for my man crush of the week, which just so happens to be Ryan Torain of the Washington Redskins.  For those out there who are bit skeptical with the Washington offense, there is good reason to start him this week.

For starters there are only a handful of running backs that do not share carries with another backs, with Torain being one of those select few.  Other RB who do not share touches all that often are Frank Gore, Michael Turner, and Arian Foster to name a few, and it seems to be working out pretty well for them.

On top of that, the Colts (the Redskins’ week 6 match-up) have allowed the third most rushing touchdowns in the league this year.  In addition, according to CBSsports.com, the Colts allow 142.2 rushing yards/game which is good enough for 28th in the league.

With Clinton Portis being out, the Redskins do not have much else to choose from, so Torain should get a high amount of carries.  So with being the only back + the 28th ranked defense against the run= big fantasy numbers this week for Torain.  So if you have him, start him.  If he’s available and you’re looking for a back this week, pick him up.  Expect big things from my man crush of the week, Ryan Torain.

  1. As soon as Portis was injured I went after this guy because there’s pretty much no else left on Washington’s depth chart but him, so I knew he’d be getting plenty of touches. He hasn’t done much for me so far but i think this could be his week to do damage against Indy.
